Narella, LLC is the studio of me, Dave Watkins and my wife Valerie. I've been shooting professionally for roughly ten years now, and it's hard to imagine spending my life without a camera in my hand. I never planned on becoming a professional artist, but it's funny how life leads you to where you belong.

I never planned on becoming a wedding photographer either, in fact I used to loath the idea of shooting weddings. The first weddings I photographed were for friends, and the only reason that I agreed to shoot them was because I explicitly told the bride and groom that I was going to shoot it MY way, which was nothing like traditional wedding photography.

I wanted to photograph the story of their day. I wanted to capture the real moments, not a series of staged and posed portraits. I shot it that way, and the bride and groom loved it, and as it turned out, I loved spending the day photographing their wedding!

I love to tell stories with photos. Whether I'm shooting for a newspaper, a magazine, or a bride and groom, telling stories with photos is what I do. Weddings are a perfect story just waiting to be told and that's why I love photographing weddings.
